Deb Vanasse is the award-winning author of a bunch (18 at last count) of books. Much of what she knows about writing and life she learned in Alaska, where she also mastered the art of hauling water and cooking ptarmigan. She loves characters who tug at the heart and stories that grab you from the opening line and never let go.
Deb is the co-founder of Alaska’s 49 Writers, and she has been invited to join the faculty at several writers’ conferences. After 36 years in Alaska, she now lives on Oregon’s north coast, where you’ll find her strolling the beach with her husband and boxer dog.
When she’s not out in the wilderness or poking around in history, Deb also does freelance editorial work. Whether a writer is fine-tuning, looking for line edits, or struggling with pulling together plot, character, voice, pacing, and content, her expertise, experience, and wisdom have made a huge difference for authors.
